Privacy Policy

Last updated October 31, 2026

Champion (“Champion”, “we”) runs champion.io and Champion Studio, which lets small businesses (“site owners”) build websites, forms, contracts, payment pages and email. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who this covers

  • Site owners — people with a Champion Studio account.
  • Visitors and clients — people who visit a site built on Champion, fill in its forms, sign its contracts or pay through it. For that data, the site owner decides what is collected and how it is used; Champion processes it on their behalf.

What we collect

  • Account data: name, login email, password (stored only as a hash), business details and settings.
  • Content you create: sites, pages, images, forms, contracts, contacts and messages.
  • Payment data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never store full card numbers.
  • Usage and device data: pages viewed, IP address, browser and device type, and security logs (for example sign-in attempts).

Named visitor tracking

Site owners can turn on visitor tracking for their Champion site. When it is on, we record page views, referring page, campaign tags (UTM), approximate location derived from IP address (city, region, country), browser and device type, and the time of each visit, linked to a first-party cookie.

If a visitor later submits a form on that site, or opens a tracked link from the site owner, earlier and later visits on that browser can be connected to the name and email they provided, so the site owner sees a named visit history. Visits from people who never identify themselves stay anonymous.

  • Retention: visitor tracking records are kept for 13 months, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Notice: the site owner controls the notice shown on their forms explaining that visits may be linked to the submitted details. Site owners are responsible for keeping that notice switched on and accurate.
  • No sale: we do not sell visitor data or use it to advertise to visitors across other sites.
  • Visitors can ask the site owner, or us at the address below, to access or delete their visit history.

Website visit statistics for site owners

For every published Champion site we count page views (page, referring site, browser type and time) so the site owner can see how their site is doing, including a map of roughly where visitors are. Location is coarse (country, region and city), worked out from the IP address when the page loads; the IP address is not stored with these statistics. The site owner’s own visits are not counted.

How Champion measures its own website and app

To understand how people find and use Champion itself, we record page views on champion.io and studio.champion.io (page, referring page, campaign tags, browser type and time), linked to a first-party cookie (cg_vid) set on champion.io. In Champion Studio we also measure active time: a signal every 30 seconds only while the tab is visible and you have used it in the last two minutes. When you sign up or log in, earlier visits on that browser are connected to your account. Emails Champion sends you (not emails site owners send) may record delivery, opens and link clicks.

  • This data is used only by the Champion team to improve Champion. It is never sold or shared with third parties or advertisers.
  • Approximate location: when a page loads we work out a coarse location (country, region and city) from the visitor’s IP address using an offline database (IP geolocation by DB-IP). Only that coarse location is kept with the page view; the IP address is not stored for this.
  • We honor Global Privacy Control: browsers that send it are not measured.
  • Records are kept for 13 months, then deleted.
  • To have your history deleted, email support@champion.io.

Cookies and tracking codes

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to protect forms from abuse, and a first-party visitor cookie when a site owner enables visitor tracking, and the Champion measurement cookie described above. Site owners may also add their own tracking codes (for example analytics or advertising pixels) to their sites; those third parties’ own policies apply to that data.

Email

We send account emails (sign-up confirmation, password reset, security notices) only to the login email on the account. Email sent by site owners through Champion is subject to sending limits and our anti-spam rules; we may pause sending that looks abusive.

How we use information

  • To provide, secure and improve Champion and support you.
  • To prevent fraud, spam and abuse, including rate limits and automated sign-up checks.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us run Champion (such as hosting, email delivery and payment processing), when the law requires it, or with your direction. They may use it only to provide their service to us.

Your choices

You can update your account details in Champion Studio. To export or delete your account and its data, or to make any privacy request, email support@champion.io. We respond within 30 days.

Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, per-account data separation and access logging. No system is perfectly secure; please tell us at once if you suspect a problem.

Changes

We will post updates here and change the date above. Significant changes will be emailed to account owners.
